Check out the cute Altered Bottle in the Cut Above Scrappin' gallery, created by Shannon Schafer. Here are the directions for how to make one for yourself:

Make an Altered Bottle
by Shannon Schafer

This really is a pretty and easy project and the end result is always so beautiful! I hope this inspires you to create an altered bottle!

Supplies Needed:

  • 1 empty & cleaned bottle (I often use the Starbucks Frappuccino bottle)

  • Scrap pattern papers & cardstock (make sure they fit around the bottle)

  • Permanent adhesive & glue dots

  • Acrylic paint that matching papers selected

  • Sponge brush

  • Sandpaper

  • Scissors & cutter maybe needed

  • Ribbons & other embellishments

Step #1: Lightly sand the top of the bottle to prep for painting.

Step #2: Paint the cap with acrylic paint and set aside to dry. You may need to do multiple coats of paint.

Step #3: Decide placement of the papers. I layer them together off the bottle and then attach to the bottle with permanent adhesive or glue dots.

Step #4: Embellish! I love embellishing with ribbon, flowers, brads, mini tags, etc.

Step #5: Fill it up! I usually fill my jars up with candy but recently made one as a CHA Fund bottle where my husband and I put our spare change that will go towards my trip to Chicago in the summer.
