Make an Altered Bottle
by Shannon Schafer
This really is a pretty and easy project and the end result is always so beautiful! I hope this inspires you to create an altered bottle!
Supplies Needed:
- 1 empty & cleaned bottle (I often use the Starbucks Frappuccino bottle)
- Scrap pattern papers & cardstock (make sure they fit around the bottle)
- Permanent adhesive & glue dots
- Acrylic paint that matching papers selected
- Sponge brush
- Sandpaper
- Scissors & cutter maybe needed
- Ribbons & other embellishments
Step #1: Lightly sand the top of the bottle to prep for painting.
Step #2: Paint the cap with acrylic paint and set aside to dry. You may need to do multiple coats of paint.
Step #3: Decide placement of the papers. I layer them together off the bottle and then attach to the bottle with permanent adhesive or glue dots.Step #4: Embellish! I love embellishing with ribbon, flowers, brads, mini tags, etc.
Step #5: Fill it up! I usually fill my jars up with candy but recently made one as a CHA Fund bottle where my husband and I put our spare change that will go towards my trip to Chicago in the summer.
